Artist’s Profile (auto–references)

We can accept this world as the best of the possible worlds, we can consider our universe as the only true one, we can believe our life is an opportunity to exercise our whims and after it nothing follows. I prefer the contrary position to all these points of view. Always, I make appeal to my right of human, that one of not being automatically and necessarily in harmony with reality and with these principles that are considered unquestionable certainties. On the contrary, I consider that absolutely everything is debatable, not precisely the immediate reality, that in my artistic view does not have any role, but the basis of our modern civilization is essentially debatable. When I say “our civilization”, I am referring to the European culture and civilization, especially the one formed after the adoption of Christianity as an official religion. I do not have in mind so much the dogmatic side of religion, but the natural dialogue, the freedom of raising questions, sometimes uncomfortable ones, the discovery of a liveliness trace within the long time ago existence of a lethargic body. What if we are not the ones who possess the answer of the truth and, as a consequence, our civilizing process is, in fact, a criminal one? Which is our right to deny other possible truth for a probable truth that is our truth? For me these are questions that go beyond rhetoric, they are essential problems, without which our world would be meaningless. With each passing moment we are farther away from the Golden Age. We have invented religions and have built-up worlds, but they stand on the corpse of the old ones. We took the Minotaur, this helpless and innocent monster and imprisoned him. Then we invaded with great delight its world and we destroyed it. We skinned it, we crushed it, we burnt it and spread around its ashes. We annihilated it from this earth and from our memory. We remained alone and masters of everything. We have begun to live into a splendid nothingness and we have started to enjoy it. I hope one day we will repay for this.
